Watchdog investigates police shoot man in Greenwich

The police watchdog has opened an investigation after a person was shot by police throughout a “critical incident” in Greenwich.

The Metropolitan Legislation enforcement responded Friday afternoon to a number of 999 experiences of a person with a firearm on Creek Highway.

Scotland Yard stated a police firearm was discharged and the person suffered a gunshot wound.

A spokesman for the Impartial Workplace for Police Conduct (IOPC) stated: “At present, shortly after 4pm, we have been notified by the MPS {that a} man had suffered a gunshot wound on account of a police capturing throughout an incident in Greenwich, South London.

Police stated the incident had nothing to do with terrorism.
