Two individuals have been taken to Dunedin Hospital in critical situation on Saturday evening after their automobile hit a bridge on State Freeway 8 close to Glenore in Otago.
A St. John spokesperson mentioned one of many sufferers was flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter; the opposite was taken away by ambulance.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Company reported at 7:42 PM that the Manuka Gorge Freeway part of SH8 was closed on the Tokomairiro River (Mt Stuart) Bridge.
At 8:08 p.m., Waka Kotahi reported that the street had reopened, however urged drivers to “take further care”.
A police spokesperson mentioned the bridge was broken by the influence.
