Police have blocked all visitors on the northern route between Junction 5 for Droitwich, Worcestershire and Junction 4A, which results in the M42. Freeway cameras present officers on the scene.
The visitors seems to be transferring in a single file, as proven in photographs at node 4A.
Delays of 60 minutes above regular journey instances will likely be reported.
Queues are about 4 miles lengthy.
On its web site, Nationwide Highways says: “The M5 in Worcestershire has been closed northbound between J5 (Droitwich) and J4A (M42) because of a collision.
“In the intervening time the emergency providers are current, along with visitors officers from the nationwide highways.
There’s at present about 4 miles of congestion on the method, with delays of greater than 60 minutes above ordinary journey instances.”
Nationwide Highways has offered diversion particulars.
It provides: “Northbound visitors is being diverted through the stable diamond detour image.
“Go away the M5 at J5 and take the third exit onto the A38.
“Proceed on the A38 to the M5 J4 through M42 J1.
“Take the third exit to rejoin the M5 northbound.”
